About the Show

Written in 1926, this original script by Maurine Dallas Watkins, a former crime journalist who covered real-life trails in Chicago, was the basis for the hit Broadway musical and film.

The story follows Roxie Hart, a housewife who murders her lover. Desperate to avoid conviction, Roxie hires the slick Billy Flynn to defend her, and along with newspaper reporters Jake Callahan and Mary Sunshine, they turn her crime into a media frenzy. Butting heads with rival Velma Kelly and the other inmates at the Cook County Jail, Roxie navigates fame, justice and the public's fascination with sensational stories.

The Suffolk County News

“The beloved tale of J.M. Barrie was brought to life with lively costumes and sets that transformed the cozy space into both a London flat and the mystical Neverland.”
